Securitized products isn’t one market — it’s a dozen of them. Consumer ABS, agency and non-agency RMBS, CMBS, CRE CLOs, esoteric ABS, CLO debt tranches, rated-note funds. They share the vocabulary of structuring, tranches, and waterfalls, but they differ a lot in collateral, investor base, and economics. A senior ABS PM isn’t a CMBS PM. A non-QM RMBS trader isn’t an agency MBS trader. Talent is organized sub-sector by sub-sector.
We run a dedicated securitized products practice inside our broader alternative credit search platform. The U.S. securitized market is one of the largest fixed-income sectors in the world — over $13 trillion in agency MBS, non-agency RMBS, CMBS, ABS, and CLOs combined (SIFMA; Guggenheim, 2024). 2025 set a record with over $340 billion in new ABS issuance, a lot of it tied to consumer financing and the AI infrastructure capex cycle (DoubleLine, January 2026).
The product has come a long way since 2008. Underwriting is more conservative, structural protections are tighter, and the investor base is deeper and better capitalized. Different market than before the financial crisis.
Senior people in this market invest in, structure, trade, originate, or service tranched debt backed by pools of underlying cash flows. They look at prepayment speeds, cohort performance, credit enhancement, and how a deal’s waterfall will actually work through different scenarios. Rating-agency stress methodologies matter. Sub-sector specialization is the norm — you hire the right person for the right book, not a generalist who knows “ABS.”
We also cover cross-product seats — multi-asset PMs, structured credit quant strategists, senior credit risk leads.
We also work with the service providers — rating agencies, trustee banks, specialty servicers.
We know the sub-sectors. Securitized is not one book. A CMBS search is run differently than a non-QM RMBS search.
Deep relationships across the market. Thirty years of engagement with PMs, structurers, and traders.
Cross-product context. CLO, ABF, structured credit trading — they all share talent.
We move at the pace of the desk. Securitized hiring windows are short, especially during fund launches and build-outs.
What’s the difference between securitized products and structured credit? They overlap. Securitized products usually means the tradeable bond universe — ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLO debt. Structured credit is broader and includes the private bilateral ABF, whole-loan positions, and CLO equity. Senior professionals often work across both, and we cover the full overlap.
What sub-segments are hiring most right now? As of early 2026, non-QM RMBS, CMBS (including SASB and CRE CLO), esoteric ABS, and private ABS origination are the busiest. Data center financing through CMBS, ABS, and structured equity is a notable growth area (Skadden, 2026). The 2025 subprime auto fraud issue reminded everyone that active credit selection still matters (DoubleLine, January 2026).
Can you build an entire securitized platform? Yes — platform head through PMs, traders, structurers, research, and ops.
How do you source candidates? Relationships, not databases. The best PMs at tier-one platforms aren’t on public job boards.
Whether you’re launching a new securitized platform, adding a CMBS or RMBS PM, building a rated-note fund, or staffing a structured credit trading desk, we can help.
