Structured products is the umbrella term for tranched, securitized, and wrapped credit exposures — cash securitizations, structured notes, rated-note wrappers, and hybrid capital structures. It overlaps with securitized products on the cash-bond side and with structured credit on the synthetic and private side. Investors, banks, and insurers all touch the market, often from different angles. The senior talent sits in tight, specialized networks, and we’ve been placing those people for thirty years.
The global structured products market is among the largest fixed-income sectors in the world. U.S. structured credit outstandings alone exceed $13 trillion across agency MBS, non-agency RMBS, CMBS, ABS, and CLOs (SIFMA; Guggenheim, 2024). Recent growth has been driven by insurance balance sheet demand for rated exposure, record ABS issuance ($340 billion in 2025 per DoubleLine), and the AI infrastructure capex cycle pushing new capital into data center, power, and structured equity deals (Skadden, 2026).
Senior people in structured products invest in, structure, trade, or service tranched debt backed by pools of contractual cash flows or engineered through synthetic structures. The work requires fluency in prepayment speeds, credit enhancement, tranche mechanics, rating-agency methodologies, structured note design, and insurance-optimized wrappers. Sub-sector specialization is standard — a structured note desk runs a different business than an ABS portfolio manager or a CFO structurer.
We know the product. Structured products evaluation requires working knowledge of tranching, credit enhancement, rating-agency methodologies, insurance-optimized wrappers, and CFO mechanics.
Deep relationships. Our network runs through structured products PMs, structurers, and traders at banks, alternative managers, insurers, and hedge funds.
Cross-product context. Structured products talent overlaps with CLOs, ABF, securitized products, and private credit.
Pace. Structured products hiring windows are short, especially during fund launches and new-product roll-outs.
What’s the difference between structured products, securitized products, and structured credit? Heavily overlapping terms. Securitized products usually means the tradeable cash-bond universe (ABS, RMBS, CMBS, CLO debt). Structured products is broader and includes structured notes, wrapped products, CFOs, and insurance-optimized structures. Structured credit is broader still — includes everything above plus synthetic trades, CDS tranches, and bilateral risk-transfer. Senior professionals often work across all three. We cover the full overlap.
What’s hiring most right now? As of early 2026, CFOs, rated-note feeder funds, structured equity for data center and AI infrastructure, and insurance-wrapped product build-outs are all active. Insurance balance sheets have been the dominant demand driver.
Can you build an entire structured products platform? Yes. Platform head through structurers, PMs, traders, research, and ops.
How do you source candidates? Relationships. Structured products is a small, tightly networked community.
Whether you’re launching a new structured products platform, adding a senior PM, building a CFO structuring desk, or staffing a structured notes issuance team, we can help.
